World’s heaviest gold ring coming to UAE

The 59kg gold ring is studded with 5.17kg of Swarovski stones
The world’s heaviest gold ring will be on display at the upcoming MidEast Watch and Jewellery Show at Expo Centre Sharjah on October 6, 2015.
Made by Taiba Gold & Jewellery of Saudi Arabia, the 58.686kg Najmat Taiba, or Star of Taiba, is studded with 5.17kg of Swarovski stones.
Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah, said: “The ring was created in 2000, and cost nearly $550,000 when gold price was $250 per ounce. Its value has multiplied several times by now, with gold trading near $1,150. I am sure the ring will generate tremendous buzz among visitors to the show.”
Najmat Taiba is nearly 87 inches in circumference and took 55 workers 45 days to complete.
The exhibition will be open from October 6-10, 2015 from 12pm to 10pm daily, except Friday from 4pm to 10pm. There will also be special ladies-only timings from 12pm to 4pm on Wednesday, October 7. Admission is free.
